I believe the main reason some food establishments stand the test of time is simply because they are professional, simple, honest and consistent... These are the most powerful marketing tools. Akiki Freres, which some call Chaina, is a living proof. Established in 1985 by Chaina Akiki... this place still stands strong!
A fruit and vegetable haven amidst Antelias, Akiki Freres is a weekly stop for me to buy the freshest fruits and vegetables. I walk into a world of colors, a huge variety of fruits, passion fruits, vegetables of all sorts and kinds - a tour around the world in just one place. The best thing is that you can satisfy your craving anytime of the year. You don't need to wait for the right season to eat your favorite fruit, for example, they have it all year round. Twenty-four years later, Chaina's sons, Rany, Ralph and Tony have taken this concept to a whole new level. In 2009 the brothers moved to a two story fruits and vegetables center. People say its more expensive, yes it is, but at least you know that every apple, every grape, every peach, apricot, nectarine, apple, orange, banana, lettuce.... is as fresh as the next. Customer is king at Akiki Freres... they work around the clock to get their customers the best from different parts of the world.
If you fancy the hottest chilly from Africa or maybe the fresh coconut juice sipped right from the actual coconut - you've got it...
The friendly staff will take you around the different sections showing you what the have:
Fruits, Vegetables, Fruit Juice Station, dried nuts and fruits, chopped vegetables, pealed almonds, emptied eggplants are all examples of items you can find that can make your cooking a more pleasant experience. Pickled goods, local dairy products as well as frozen foods are also available. A cocktail and juice section is also present. Exotic fruits cocktails, freshly squeezed juices and milkshakes are all offered. Another service you can find is that of gift baskets. Original arrangements of fruit baskets are created upon order.
They offer a delivery system right to your door steps, but who wouldn't want to experience nature's best live...I don't think that social media or advertisement and false messages is what made this place succeed, but the simplicity of professionalism: Cleanliness, friendliness and fresh products... I believe this is the best marketing tool.
