Don't you sometimes feel like everything is exceptional? Don't you feel like smiling or even shouting for joy? I felt like talking, sharing and informing everyone around me that I've discovered something awesome! Breakfast at the Duke's Palace.

I've been here, done that, and remembered experiencing the best breakfast ever, not for its menu, but for it's simplicity and finesse. Since Kempinski left, the concept has changed, serving a wider choice, but with the same exact same cleanliness and class.

Amazing was the first impression, I couldn't but walk around taking photos and appreciating the choices and cleanliness of presentation. Seven stations of pure pleasure.

Not only a lot of choice, but tasty as well. I loved the croissant which I stuffed with fig jam and Bruges cheese and the Parma ham with dried raisin bread or the thick slices of smoked ham. The eggs were flavorful and the sausages a must try. What an experience!

Classical music playing in the background in a well lit space, tables with a full set of cutlery, Isigny butter and pure white table cloths, a professional and smiley staff... I enjoyed breakfast so much that I'll be planning to come back to the hotel just to enjoy it again.

The best part is the attention to details. Not a single plate is empty, not a single serving spoon is dirty, all is neat and looks like they've just opened and have set themselves a challenge: Every customer needs to feel special and unique.

On the second day, I had the delicious salmon again with old mustard and those sweet cornichons. I filled a bowl of fresh fruit with cereals and skimmed milk, the selection is excellent. The pancakes are mouthwatering. As for the bread and Danish pastry, all are baked the same morning, offering an unmatched fluffiness and flaky borders. More classical music... A bright morning.

A pleasant stay with a great breakfast, The Duke's Palace is a recommended hotel if you're planning to visit Bruges.
