Baptiste Debombourg has transformed a public square using 1,200 café chairs to form an elaborate roller coaster. Although the installation is static, Debombourg created movement within the sculpture by incorporating six bright colors and four sky-high loops that twist and turn far from the ground.
Debombourg is known for transforming ordinary elements into something fascinating. Dubbed the Stellar, the artist integrates similar chairs that are used in its surrounding cafes to create this masterpiece.
Stellar is part of France’s Nantes cultural program in August where a big number of artists transform various public places into beautiful spectacles.
