Facing Central Park on upper Manhattan and a couple of blocks from the Apple Store is an old building hosting one of New York's finest hotels. JW Marriott Essex House New York expresses elegance, class, know how, professionalism and relaxation... I spent three memorable night.
A work of art among Central Park hotels, JW Marriott Essex House New York has served as an icon in the Big Apple skyline since 1931. The hotel is near Central Park in NYC and ideally located in the heart of it all, with Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Columbus Circle, the Theater District and 5th Avenue all within reach. The ornate gilded doors and rich wood paneling throughout the NYC hotel shows an Art Deco history, while cutting-edge technology seamlessly blends the past and present. Unwind in the guest rooms where Internet TV allows you to stream your favorite shows, movies and music. Dine at SOUTHGATE Bar & Restaurant featuring hearty meals and small bites with specialty cocktails.
The rooms:
- Enjoy access to personal Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube and Pandora accounts on Internet TVs.
- With 117 luxury suites in NYC with pull-out bed options, the hotel is great for families.
- This iconic NYC luxury hotel features the technology of today, all with the style of its Art Deco past.
- Premium linens and leather accents create a luxurious ambiance at the Marriott.
- Some rooms have spectacular views of Manhattan or Central Park.
Impeccably clean, the hotel is more expensive than others but offers a different experience. Arrive and be welcomed by the doormen. Several men welcome you and accompany you to he reception. A wide lobby oozing style and luxury managed by a professional staff that makes things happen.
Old elevators and up to the eleventh floor. Carpets cover the alleys, an electronic card and here comes my room. Thirty square meters, a bathroom, all the needed amenities, three windows enter fresh light, a large television, a working desk and a loaded mini bar.
Everything went smooth...
- Wide king size bed
- Balaced air conditioning unit
- Good hot water and pressure
- Polite and welcoming staff
- Breakfast was very good. It should not be missed
The minus:
- Internet is extremely expensive. Not acceptable in 2016.
I had the best eggs Benedict at the Marriott. Read the detailed review about them.
An iconic hotel, a memorable stay... It's an experience!
