My last visit to Julia's to its first branch on AbdelWahab street in Beirut was more than two years ago. Since then, the Food and Beverage industry in Lebanon has gone through many changes leading to a country with more than 400 restaurants. Where does Julia's stand?
Julia’s was one of the first high-end restaurants in town and I’m happy that this little Italian bistro is still surviving and doing great.
Today Julia's has another branch at the Le Mall in Sin El Fil, on the first floor. I was there with my wife this week to check on the developments: Same menu, same ambiance, same service and same taste.
- The Nonna Pizza (Tomato sauce, cherry tomatoes, basil and mozzarella perfectly cooked on a traditional Lebanese kaaka)
- The three pepper pasta (is a magical taste I cannot even describe and would urge you to try)
- The veal escalope (is the Oreille d'elephant made famous by The Chase in Zouk)
- Julia's burger
- Dessert: one of the tastiest french toast - Pain Perdu (Bread, Caramel and vanilla ice-cream)
- The overall taste is more than fantastic.; Delicious, or even sensational.
- The pepper pasta is something you won't imagine savoring before you taste it.
- The burger, with its grilled onions, melted cheese, soft bun and thick juicy meet is the high-end version of the average burger we know, accompanied with a generous quantity of crunchy brown fries.
